Hello everyone! My name is Maddy, I'm a born and raised Oregonian and I've lived in the Eugene area for 6 years. I originally came to the UO to study psychology and poetry, but the world of early childhood education found me and led me on a brand new path to teaching. I believe in the magic of nature and creation through the muse of the natural earth. I believe in the power of creation in many forms; through art, poetry, music, and the purity of inspiration. My hobbies are mostly musical as I sing and play piano, ukulele, guitar, and trombone. When I'm not at the Co-op, you can find me journaling by the river, writing music, playing with my cats, or at the Rink Exchange working on my figure skating routines.
My goal as a teacher is to guide children through every day emotions and struggles, as well as aid them in their social interactions. Sharing the beauty and magic of nature with children is one of my favorite parts about teaching, so a lot of the activities I plan are nature based. I am here to help children discover their passions and interests by supporting their learning through explorative play. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
